  The service and food were very good. Our fries were not served hot, but warm. The server was very accommodating and sweet. Everyone worked the Southern charm. Even the woman at the register. Southern charm & hospitality at their best.

  We stop here when we go down to buy fresh shrimp at Shell Creek Seafood. Ate lunch today and it was just as expected - friendly and tasty. I see a few other bad reviews with people who go in with expectation that their food quirks are going to be catered to. I would just say find another place. Altman's is local, delicious, and just what you would expect in the South. If you order anything other than the buffet for lunch, you're probably looking for another restaurant. Today they had smothered Salisbury steak, smothered pork chops, fried chicken, rice, mashed potatoes, collard greens, okra and tomatoes, beans and okra, and biscuits - along with a dessert and full salad bar. All of this and a drink for $9.50. The food was not fancy, just flipping fantastic. Very flavorful, not too salty, and just like a Southern mother would prepare. Again, can't please everyone - especially those who just wander off of I-95 and end up in the wrong place. Altman's is the RIGHT place if you want Southern comfort food packed with flavor. And, the staff was very friendly. Can't wait to go back again

  On our way to Florida, we needed some food. My son and I have food sensitivities and it usually is easy to navigate around IF people bother to look into it for us. Btw, my son is TWO so it's Big deal if he has a reaction! When my mother walked in, no one said a word to her! There was only one other customer in the entire restaurant! She finally asked if she was to seat herself or what. Their response was "it didn't matter "! When I asked about the ingredients, they just stood there and I finally asked another server but still no one asked the cook to come out. Basically it was a risk and it was clear the only person concerned was me. From all the comments about hospitality, my family didn't receive that. No one even came back to see if we needed anything, nor did they offer a refill or bring us our bill. We had to go up and get it! Also we had to get our own take home boxes! The prices are too high for the food and lack of hospitality!!

  This place is great and the staff is wonderful. This eatery is worth the short deviation off of I-95. Small town rustic atmosphere with southern hospitality. The food is great also !

  Very good food, it's a little chilly in there, recommend a jacket if you go. The service was amazing and I truly felt welcome.
